Fast Tracking Shared Streets Initiatives

Municipalities throughout New England are considering the conversion of public roadways, parking, and open spaces to be used for outdoor dining, retail, and more. Even with limited resources, cities and towns are finding ways to share the public right of way to accommodate more and diverse user groups and quickly adapt to new demands. Learn more about a project to better link two bicycle facilities in the Watchemoket Square area of East Providence, RI,  where visioning concepts came to life as a transportation project with potential positive economic impacts. Join us to hear more about the planning process, funding, challenges, transportation impacts, and the City's plans for this space in the future.
